Rose Gold "Yes" Bracelet

Last week, I was perusing the website "Etsy" which, if you aren't familiar with, is a site where small businesses can make and sell specific items. Since I am going through a major obsession with rose gold, I searched "Rose gold bracelet" and found a shop which offered cute bracelets with words bent into them. They had words like "Love" and "Hope"(as well as other cute designs) which I toyed between for a while, and then noticed that they offered a custom service for any word of your choice. If you have read my "Just Say Yes" post, you will know that I have decided to say yes to a lot more things in order to break free of my anxiety and panic disorder and to live life to the fullest that I can. As a reminder of this, I thought it would be nice to get a bracelet that simply said "yes" so that when I look down at my wrist i'm always met with a positive vibe and a little nudge of "just do it, what's the worse that can happen". They offer the bracelet in many different sizes so no worries if you have a teeny wrist like me or a slightly wider one. Including postage and packaging this bracelet only cost me £18.27 which for a silver plated bracelet that will mean quite a lot to me, is really not bad at all. I really love it and have already worn it lot's. I love that although it's so simple, it has a lot of personal meaning and also looks so cute.

Makeup & Jewellery Storage Ideas/Alternatives

I like to think of myself as quite a creative person, always looking for new ways to store things and pretty things to add to my bedroom. I'm a firm believer of the fact that a girls bedroom is very much a personal space, to dress up as she chooses, with whichever soft furnishings and bits and bobs take her fancy. Everyone has different tastes, but I think it's refreshing to see a variety of ideas and solutions. As most of you will know, I'm a huge fan of searching out unique and vintage items for my bedroom from charity shops, bootsales and home clearance shops, so it may not come as much of a surprise to you that I don't store my jewellery or makeup in a modern glass jar. The selection of things I have pictured here were all under £5. Unlike buying a plastic box for my makeup from a shop on the high street, I get such satisfaction out of finding pretty little trinkets that I know will make my room slightly more interesting. They really aren't that difficult to find either, you just need to open your eyes a bit more. Charity shops are always stocked with cute little plates and saucers & bootsales are absolutely FILLED with vintage, one off items.

Each of the plates you see above, cost me 20p. The tins are a more recent find. I got them from a house clearance shop, which if you ask me, is an amazing idea. It's like a permanent bootsale stand & everything is so reasonably priced. Each tin cost me £2.95. I used the Alice in Wonderland tin to store all my tiny studs and small stacking rings and the Typhoo Tea tin has all my cotton wool pads and cotton buds in it. The Jacobs Cream Cracker tin, as you can see, is used to store all my lipsticks, so simple & so effective. The Mrs Tiggywinkle tin, I have used to store more earrings & the tin beneath that, has my necklaces in it. The mirror on the wall cost me £3 from a bootsale & the cup & saucer candle was also from a bootsale for £2. The retro "Annual for Girls" book was bought on a day out with Louise in Market Harbourough Oxfam for £1.

You don't have to spend a lot of money to store your jewellery or makeup or to add a touch of personality to your bedroom, you just need a creative eye & the ability to make nothing into something.

Scrabble anyone?

I love playing Scrabble, it's what i call a good "brain game". Although, gone are the days when you'd sit around with friends/family on a regular basis playing old school board games...it's more "drinking games". This doesn't mean you can't wear scrabble though ;)
I've seen scrabble jewellery popping up recently, rings, bracelets, necklaces etc..and i definitely knew i had to have something of the scrabble variety, as i actually don't own any personalised jewellery.
When reading Victoria's blog VIPXO, i noticed that she had decided to start making and selling her very own personalised scrabble jewellery. BRILLIANT! I love it. It looks good worn alone and amongst other bracelets.

Rings, Rings, Rings..

I have been a teeny bit obsessed with buying rings as of late. I don't often find anything which excites me..or which i know i will wear a lot or jazz up any outfit.
H&M currently have a sexy selection, some of which made their way into my ring box...
& they are bargainus, with the most expensive ring only being £4.99 (the red jewelled one)
I know that costume type jewellery is not everyone's cuppa & it does look a bit ridiculous on my teeny fingers, but I love it.

Packages in the Post

This isn't a blogpost about things i have ordered.
These are things which have been sent to me by girls who follow my blog.
I absolutely adore being sent cards/gifts. Being sent from companies it's not exactly that personal, but from someone who has made something themselves, it has so much more meaning :)

She sent me a brushroll which she had custom made. Now, personally, something like this which has been made by someone, is a lot more satisfying to own. I have always wanted a brush roll, it makes transporting your brushes SO much easier. Yes, you can shove them into a large makeup bag, but it will just ruin the shape of the brushes, and lets face it, this is just so cute. I have spent a fair bit of money on my mac brushes, they deserve the best treatment possible..that & i don't want to be forking out for new ones.
It's pretty, it's pink, it has flowers & ribbon..it is the ultimate girly brush storage. I love it. I have all my brushes slotted neatly into each compartment. I also found it was great for allowing brushes to dry, usually i will just put them on a towel and leave them that way, but you can just pop them in here also. :)
Sammie is actually selling these brush rolls, and i would strongly urge you to go & have a look on her blog. They are a fabulous price also at £13.95. I will probabaly buy one for a friend or my mum. I haven't ever seen a brush roll SO cute.

Boxing Day Bling.

As i mentioned previously, i went into the City on boxing day & had a gander around the sales.
Here are a few of my slightly "blingy-er" finds...
I'm not normally an overly blingy person, in fact sometimes i'd rather make more of a statement with what i'm wearing than jewellery.
However, i think a tiny part inside of all of us, screams out for some big tacky bling every once in a while..especially when it's half price or less.

The first thing i picked up was this rather tacky gold watch in River Island, reduced from £34.99 to £15



Equipt with diamontes & leopard print. On the tacky scale i'd say it was pretty high, but i don't care, because i likes it :)

Second was a Karen Millen ring in House Of Fraser. Was £42.50, but i paid £10! A bloody bargain i'm sure you'd agree.




It sits on the hand at a slight angle, which obviously according to which way up you put it on, can either face down or up. It also has swarovski crystals in it, so it catches the light & looks beautiful. It's quite large on my teeny little hand, but i love me a massive blingy ring. ;)

So as you can see, my blingtastic alter ego took over whilst hunting through the sales, but i'm glad she did, as i love both purchases.

Fake Bling.

My mum came home this evening sporting some new bling.

I am a fan of the occasional tacky bit of jewellery (aren't we all)
and when she showed me these that she picked up in a little boutique-y shop. I wanted them BADLY.

Why?
Because at first glance, i actually thought she'd dished out big moolah on some diamond Chanel earrings.
My mum is in no way chavvy.
She is a proper laydeee. haha
But i am obviously aware these earrings may be targeted by a young chavvy girl, to accompany her trackies & trainers.
Tasteful no?

But do you know what...i actually really like them
If you wear them right...why would anyone suspect you're wearing £8 earrings instead of the real thing?

I do think that you should all have a pair of these..and if it means me going out, buying them for you and posting them...then i surely will!
That is an offer too!

Sometimes a fake can be just as satisfying...well..maybe not, but it will definitely suffice.
