Chi Hair & Small Update

Sorry I haven't been blogging in a while. My boyfriend came home from Uni so i've been enjoying his company. :) But also work has been utter poop and stressful and i'm probably going to quit.
I received my LUCKY CHARMS from Sierra. And a surprise box of reeses cups cereal too. Which look tasty! I am already trying not to munch them too quickly as i really want them to last. Thank you so much Sierra, I was like a child on Xmas day when i received the package. haha

Okay so...Like most of you, I have very mixed opinions on CHI. There are some things in the range that are a necessity...and others that really..you could do without. So to save you all the hassle of buying it all i'll give you my opinion on what's worth buying and what isn't.

Chi Collection... (Me and Mum went a bit crazy when everything was under half price in Sallys)

  • Silk Infusion - This was what drew me to CHI, I'd heard so many amazing things about this product i had to have it. And I'm glad i bought it. I put a small amount in my hair when it's wet then blowdry and use a smaller amount to smooth down frizzers afterwards. When i say small...i mean SMALL. So many times i've put a little too much in, and it instantly makes your hair greasy. Be cautious with the amount. Obviously if you have thicker hair you'd use more but i would experiment with that before you are planning on a night out. :)
  • Infra Shampoo - To be honest, i wasn't too impressed with this shampoo...It doesn't lather much. And i'm a complete weirdo when it comes to that as i think that if it lathers more it means my hair is cleaner and i know i've got every hair covered. It also made my hair EXTREMELY knotty. I get a headache brushing the knots out seriously. It did make my hair shiny-er i guess...but that could have been the silk infusion.
  • Keratin Mist - Hhm...to be honest..i rarely use a leave in conditioner unless i'm letting my hair air dry...which takes years and makes me cold and shivery so i don't do that too often. I can't see the point of this product...I think it just does the same job as silk infusion but not as well...I'd advise you get silk infusion over this.
  • Infra Treatment - Again...makes my hair knotty but it is a great treatment. DO NOT get this ANYWHERE near your roots or apply too much silk infusion after this as it just goes greasy and kindof stiff...i think its overload of silk build up? haha Good think about this is it doesn't need to be left in too long for it to do it's job. I would recommend you use this with your normal shampoo over the Infra shampoo though. As i do think "Too much" silk can make the hair heavy, greasy and kindof lifeless.

  • Nourish Intense treatment - I think i prefer this to the Infra Treatment. It has a nicer consistency and a nicer smell. Doesn't leave my hair as messy and again doesn't need to be left in long. Would recommend this for dull, thick, dry or damaged hair, followed with silk infusion.
  • Nourish Intense - The one thing that bugs me about this is that it doesn't really say what it is? A shampoo? A conditioner? hmm...Just "Nourish Intense" then? I used this with the Infra shampoo...so like a conditioner i spose...and it worked well. But i also used this as a shampoo with the nourish intense treatment after...and again worked well. This lathers alot more than the infra shampoo and i really like this...hence why i've used alot. :)
  • Curl Preserve System - Alot of you commented on my last post that you liked my hair..and how i did it...all down to the magic of this beast! Well...don't expect a miracle as my hair is naturally wavy but not as "preserved" as this usually. I have tried absolutely everything to get my hair looking like it does in that picture and i am truely amazed at the outcome this spray gave. I LOVE IT! Just so you all know...Usually, if i wash my hair and don't brush it...go on a beach and get it wet...and leave it..it looks like this...

It's kindof...wavy/curly/messy.... But in order to get hair like i had in the previous post, i scrunch it, and sometimes tie small messy buns to the side of my head and blow dry on a low heat for a long time...usually with a diffuser. This works pretty well. If you try it please show me your results. Oorrr if im lazy and the house is nicely warmed, i just scrunch it, spray on the curl preserve and leave it to dry. :)

Forgot to mention (Saskia the Salsa Fairy's comment reminded me) DO NOT USE CHI OVER AND OVER like you would a normal shampoo and conditioner. The silk will build up in your hair making it dry and lifeless. I use this when my hair needs a boost or before i go out. It never has quite the same effect if you try using it on a regular basis...which is so crap because it's expensive! Orr, try combining it with your regular shampoo or conditioner. :D

Hope this has helped a few of you. I know i was a bit overwhelmed by what to try from the CHI range, and if you don't have the money to spend on all of it then at least you know the select few that are worth the purchase.

It's my birthday on Saturday (19 years old :O) and my boyfriend has bought me a huge goody bag from LUSH so i can share that with you when he lets me have it. :D

I am currently running a bath with MA bar bubble bar and i think it's my favourite...*sniffs manically* yum.

Primark beauts and New fishies!

Usually, when i go into primark i really have to hunt for something good...(Nearest Primark isn't too great, definately not Oxford Street standard) But yesturday, i was throwing things in my basket. I'm guessing that they had just stocked the shelves in new gear, as there was quite a que waiting for them to open and it was surprisingly tidy (For those of you who have access to a Primark, you will know that most things end up on the floor, I don't know why...Lazy staff? Lazy shoppers? All i know is you wouldnt do that in D&G)

Anyway, Here are some of the things i got...

Left to Right: Black dress £7.83, Black diamonte flipflops £1.96, Cream lace top/dress £7.83, White beaded flipflops £5.87, Sailor top £3.91 (I also got this is navy - looks cute with a waist skirt), Floral tie neck blouse £7.83

The cute pj bottoms are very Jack Wills esq. They're baby pink and white pinstripe with a cute spotty bow, best of all, they were £3.91! and yes, those are pants but i thought they were cute (they have small hearts on them) and they were only £1.47!!

Left to right: These four cute hairclips were £1.97 and the oversized clips were only 98p!

MY NEW FISHIES...

I know, the photo is crap..but do you know how hard it is to take pictures of fish that dart about the tank? very bloody hard! I was going to get fish like i had before...but my mum pointed these pretty lil things out and i wanted them. They have loads of neon and pretty colours in their scales. I'm starting out with 3 but because they're alot smaller than my previous ones, i'm probably going to get a few more at some stage (yay) Theyr'e called Sushi, Wasabi and Egg Jnr. I think i should explain egg...My boyfriend chose this one, um..it's pretty much just "fish egg"? Is that right Jack? haha And Junior as he named a previous fish, egg, so this one is egg jnr. We have a strange sense of humour :)

LUSH skincare: A Review

Eve'nin Lovelies...

I thought seeing as it's been about a month since i first purchased some LUSH skincare i would share my findings with you all, apart from the fresh facemask "catasphrophy cosmetic" which i have done a seperate review for...

I had heard some really good things from others about LUSH skincare, I really like the fact that it's all natural and very "green". I also like the fact that it's not tested on animals.

For a list of ingredients for each of these products go to the website.

Skin Drink

When i first opened this i was a bit dissapointed with the colour..well..not dissapointed, thats quite a strong word, i was a bit surprised by the colour, it looks kinda like...baby poo? yum.?! This moisturiser is VERY moisturising. I have (thought i had) dry skin, but in fact this moisturiser was almost too heavy for me. It left an oily residue on my skin, which i didn't like much, however, was a great base for makeup, and certainly dried up my dry patches. I would reccommend this as a night cream, or only to be used in dry areas of the face, or even if u really do have majorly dry skin, or in the winter. I'm thinking this moisturiser sorted out my dry skin, and then because i carried on using it, it got a bit much. I didn't break out of anything though, which is good and i'm pleased it did its job but to be used with caution!

Mask Of Magnaminty

In all honesty i have only used this mask 3 times. I much prefer the fresh faced masks, but alot of people are put off by the fact they only have a shelf life of 3 weeks, and they cannot be shipped in America. But because they are SO fresh, they really benefit the skin alot more. I don't reaallly see much of a difference when i use this? I've heard some people say it's for oily skin, then some say it's for combination..and some say it's for dry skin...so i'm not sure if it's suited to my skin type or not? I prefer the consistency of these over the fresh faced mask, they're easier to spread and dont have chunky bits that are likely to hang from your face...scary! I love the colour and smell of this mask aswell. I would definately say give this one a try, but get the smaller pot incase you don't get along with it, or ask for a sample! Not sure if i will buy this again, Obviously i'll use up the pot and see if i notice a difference the more ive used it.

Angels on Bare Skin

This is a fab cleanser, it leaves your skin feeling so clean and soft. It does look kindof scary in the tub...but look past that for now. :) It's also good for every type of skin which doesnt restrict anyone from trying this. The only downfall is having to make it into a paste in your hands...i find i loose half of it between my fingers down the sink. Anyone else have this problem or do i have gappy hands? The smell is..okay? I hated it at first, but now it's grown on me. To be honest, it's such a good cleanser that the smell and adding water to it isn't enough to put me off. Try this, you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Sympathy for the Skin

This is a body cream. I was really excited about this, Smells like bananas and vanilla yoghurt, and is great for dry skin. You can only get this in the large tub, so i was kindof hestitant anyway...how would i use all that up? I smelt it...and it does smell nice, you want to eat it...but the more i smell it...the more i hate it. It's starting to make me feel sick. It doesn't really feel like it does anything on the skin, i don't know about you but when you have dry skin, you almost want it to feel kindof greasy after a cream before it sinks in...with this...2 seconds later it's as if u didnt put anything on...and ur skin doesnt feel very moisturised. This might be because my skin is dryer than most? although its really not that dry? Hhmm, wasn't too impressed with this one, i much prefer the massage bars on my skin.

Handy Gurugu

The best hand cream i've ever used. This one is suggested for dry hands, it's the "strongest" one. Although it sinks in so quickly and smells absoloutley gorgeous. There's not much more i can say about this one, other than the fact it's bloody amazing & if u have dry hands you should deffo give it a go.

Heavanilli Massage Bar

This is my absolute FAVOURITE massage bar. I can't get enough of this, I love the scent and i just think massage bars are the best invention ever. I seriously need to stock up on more of these. They moisturise so well, and leave that moisturising/greasy feeling that i mentioned earlier before sinking into the skin and making you smell gorgeous. Please buy this and love it like i do :)

I was in LUSH today (eek) and i got talking with one of the girls in there, i was looking for a new fresh face mask to try after catastrophe cosmetic. She suggested "A Crash Course in Skincare". She put it on my hand and demonstrated it, as well as the cleanser "Ultrabland" and the toner "A breath of fresh air" I bought the facemask (along with another massage bar - strawberry feels forever) and got samples of the following things:

  • Ultrabland (cleanser)
  • Breath of fresh air (toner)
  • Imperialis (to replace skin drink as its become too heavy)

And i aso picked up a few for my boyfriend as i thought he could try some too(aren't i nice), he has oily/spot prone skin, and she suggested:

  • Enzymion (moisturiser)
  • Tea tree toner (a toner :O)

I hope this helps, I will review the sample products and let you know if i'll purchase the full sizes, all are looking good so far.

Hope you're having a nice weekend

O.P.I & New Hair

So on Saturday i purchased some rather tasty O.P.I nail polishes. I will do this for all of them, but as you know..I'm not going to paint them...remove the colour, re paint all in one day. That would be truely mind numbing, so at the moment, i am wearing "feelin' hot hot hot".
I LOVE this colour!

I also got my hair cut/coloured tuesday night...you like?

Posey Pose.

Ha! GOON. I look about 5! I don't always pose like this i promise. :)

My Makeup Storage.

I'm affraid that when it comes to storing makeup, i really am NOT very organised..although it looks tidy...i can never find anything easily because i throw it all in the silver chest. It makes life easier in the short term. haha.[Tidy Tidy]

From the Left: In the "Lamb" tin (which once had my watch in it) now has all my hair grips, then theres the classic light up mirror, In the little mirrored draws are all my eyeshadows, a tower or lush skincare, a small glass vase of fake flowers (haha), my large silver chest, a black cd storage box with 2 draws all of which include more makeup and on top of that is a picture holder but i use this to hang my earrings on...I used to have them all chucked in a draw but the nuisance of having to find the other one and untangle them drove me insane, and i find this method SOO much easier.Hhmm...this is the mess that is some of my most-used makeup. Things like eye pencils, mascara, concealer are in the small makeup bag near the front and thes rest is just blush, MSF's, Dazzle Dusts...etc etc.

The Top Drawer...
Nail Polishes, Toner, cotton pads, Makeup remover, Hair Bands and the bag in the bottom right corner is full of all my lip products...

[Lots of lippie stuffs]

Draw of body lotions, deodorant, face washes etc..
[& my really soft lounge-about-the-house booties in the bottom left corner of the photo]

Random Photo Tag.

I was tagged by the lovely Laura (♥My Bloggy Blog♥),

You have to go to the 4th file in your pictures then the 4th image and explain it.

This photo was taken in september at "Black Gang Chine" (70'S Amusement park) in the Isle Of Wight ( Google it, It's so retro haha) I dragged my boyfriend there for 5 days as it was somewhere i used to go alot when i was little and i missed it. This was the "funny mirrors", i promise we don't always have weird shaped heads and his eyebrows aren't really that scary.

I tag everyone who hasn't done this yet..i promise im not lazy at choosing people, i just want to see everyone do it. :)

New Goldfish. Names please?

A few months ago, before my boyfriend left for uni 4 and half hours away from me, i was having a crappy day and when i got home from work, he had bought and set up a goldfish tank for me!
I wasn't allowed a guinea pig because they need alot of attention and i work full time...and i wasn't allowed a kitten because we live near a busy road and it would have had no chance. So he bought me a tank so i could have goldfish :D He is lovely and it was a lovely surprise....We bought the fish together but they only lasted about 3 weeks and then they all died :( So now i have emptied the tank ready for new ones...and i need some name ideas guys.

I will be getting 3 new fishies so please help me decide some names.
Yay.

What's in my bag?

Joezehh (she craves mascara) did this earlier today and tagged anyone else who wanted to do it, so i thought "whyever not"...

1. Post a picture of the bag, purse, handbag, pocketbook [whatever you call it] that you are carrying. Now, don't you even think about going back there to your closet and getting your very favorite one or that cute little vintage clutch that you carried the last time you went out...I want to see the purse that you carried today!

2. Tell us how much it cost. Oh my, I know what you are thinking - a proper lady would never discuss matters of money, darling. Well, yes, but today we are gonna break that rule and tell. Yes, tell how much it cost. We won't judge. This is for entertainment purposes only. And if there is a story that goes along with this purse, tell it.

This is my current handbag, It's nothing special, it was £8 from primark i believe!

Here's what i have in it...

Clockwise from the top...

  • Pink Filofax
  • Tresemme freeze hold hair spray
  • My purse :)
  • Handy Gurugu hand cream from LUSH
  • My work keys
  • My ipod touch, which i keep in little felt "johnny loves rosie" bag.
  • Chewing gum
  • Carmex ♥
  • Bourjois 3d effect lipgloss in 33
  • Rimmel lipstick in nude delight
  • Mac Lipglass in oyster girl
  • Blistex herbal lip balm
  • Garnier eye roll on
  • Lancome black eye khol
  • My Phone - Samsung Tocco - This beast hates me...does anyone have this...and it cuts out after 10 seconds EVERY phone call? seriously? whats up with that samsung..sort'it aaht.
  • Hair grip :O
  • Mac perfume in turquatic...loves it.
  • Hair appointment card - Yes next tuesday im having my hair done...darker or lighter anyone?
  • Train tickets from a visit to see my boyfriend (which was ages ago..jeez need to clean out my handbag)

I tag everyone who hasn't done this yet...I really want to see what everyone else has in their bags!

Saturday Shopping.

Yikes..I went shopping again. Almost all from Boots or superdrug though so it's not too bad.

First, I went into Mac and got the pink fish lip conditioner. I like this, although i did think it would be a bit more "conditioning". Then in Superdrug whilst i was purchasing items for my lucky charm swap, i also picked up the 101 lipstick and a dazzle dust in 88 (Wild berry). In Barry M at the mo, it's buy any 2 items and get an eye kohl free..so as i bought 4 barry m items (including my dd's for the swap) i got 2 free pencils, one in grey and one in white.

Everything in the neutrogena visibly clear range is by 2 for £5 so i picked up this face wash/mask as i'd previously seen lollipop26 talk about it and wanted to try it out. I also picked up a moisturiser for my boyfriend, but that isn't very exciting. I get him good gifts (?!) Then everything in the AUSSIE range was buy 2 for £6 so i got curl definition serum and a deep conditioning treatment. The treatment smells vile...I hope it works.

This was the most exciting. Everything in the soap & glory range was reduced by as much as £5 on some items! So as u can see, i took advantage slightly? Top left is a body scrub..this smells SO nice, i can't quite put my finger on the smell, Fruity..kindof.. but nice none the less. :) Second is a body butter, I think my mum is going to steal this as she loved it so much. This is my favourite smell of all the items. It smells fresh. Theeennn i got a facial scrub (I know..another one?) I can't help it, i just want to try everything.

The two things at the front are an underye concealer (I'm ALWAYS trying these, and i had no idea soap and glory did one?) and a motherpucker lipgloss set which was reduced by £5 and there was one left. It was practically screaming at me. I'm so glad i bought these, i had forgotten how amazing they were. My mum had one years ago and i stole it (and lost it..oops) They taste like chocolate and i put some on my lips about 3 hours ago...and its still going strong, even through munching and drinking. Look at the packaging...It's worth buying just for that!

From Top to bottom: Half Naked, Baby Doll, Plum Juice.

From Lef to Right: Plum Juice, Baby Doll, Half Naked.

O.P.I

Almost forgot, my O.P.I (Sally's) purchases.

From Left to Right: "I'm Indi-a mood for love", "Feelin' Hot-hot-hot!", "Aphrodite's pink nightie", "Done out in Deco" and a boring old black. :)

I will post colour swatches when i apply each colour to my nails, apart from the black, because we all know what that looks like.

Let me know if you want any reviews guys.

In & Out.

I thought i'd join in with the whole "In & Out", "Up & Down" blogs.
IN
  • Soap & Glory Mother Pucker lip glosses - MY GOD I'm in love. They taste of chocolate, arent too sticky, stay for hours and are lip plumping. *thumbs up*
  • Mini Milks - Just love em. I don't care if they are meant for kiddlywinks..they're darn tasty. Although i can't eat just one..
  • The Lady in boots being utterly shocked at how many boots points i have on my card and reminding me i do have loads and can spend them. yay.
  • Ribena 2 for £1.50. Mmm, i was so thirsty and ribena is my FAVE drink ever...my heart skipped when i saw that. (Im so frickin' sad)
  • Having 71 followers. :O Yay, Thanks guys
  • Getting my little package from Posey. I was like a kid at christmas...you made my day!

OUT

  • Mac being so busy that it totally put me off anything apart from the Pink Fish lip conditioner in the HK collection...everything else i was kindof dissapointed with. I think it could have something to do with it being so jam packed i wanted to leave. I also looked at the grand duo blushes..but when your mother is stood waiting for you and theres no room to move...theyre just not as enticing.
  • The snotty crappy girls that work in superdrug who think they're too special to serve u with a smile or put any effort into anything...AND who overcharge and complain that they have to refund me...TUH
  • Oasis...I just can't seem to EVER find anything i like in there anymore.
  • Crappy saturday night television..bring back blind date i say.

Barry M Dazzle Dusts

I frickin LOVE these things. They're the reason i would never buy mac pigments. With pigments you're paying £15 for something you will take years to use up. And whats to say you might change your mind and end up hating the colours you've bought? Personally, i think mac pigments are ALOT of money, and unless its an absolute MUST HAVE colour, that you will use everyday, I don't think they're worth it.

Dazzle Dusts however, have an amazing pigmentation, are the perfect size and are £4.50! They also have a massive range of colours. So you can try out 3 for the price of one MAC pigment. but also, they're 3 for 2 most of the time... so..thats even better. :)

My first makeup item ever was the lilac dazzle dust. I was 13...And i still have loads of it left!

This is my collection

Front row left to right: 59 - Lilac, 11- Charcoal, 84 - Cherry Red, 44 - Bronze

Second Row L to R: 15, Aqua , 39 - Tan, 25 - Rust

Thrid Row L to R: 76 - Yellow (Seriously, what was i thinking?), 72 - Emerald,

Hhm, the other one is old, looks like its been discontinued as it says "17" underneath. But the current 17 is a different colour. Its the same with the the last one..This one is colour 6...and that too has dissapeared. It's like Mac's Vanilla aswell...unless they tweaked it up a bit and brought it out as a new colour?

Alot of these colours i don't use too much as i bought them when i was about 13-15, i.e the crazy yellow. But they're great for photography shoots or for doing something a bit more outrageous. For the price you can't really complain. I want a few more neutral shades for wearing everyday.

Ah well. Thats my DD collection. Anyone else love these? How many do you have and are any colours as embarassing as my yellow one? :)

Review: Catastrophe Cosmetic

This is my review of the Catastrophe Cosmetic fresh face mask from LUSH.

"Blueberries rich in beneficial anti-oxidants and full of vitamins and minerals to reduce inflammation and have an antiseptic effect. Soothing chamomile, Irish moss and almond oil with the gentle cleansing action of calamine save the day. Apply to clean skin, avoiding the eye area. Leave for five to ten minutes, then rinse away with warm water. Keep chilled"

I have been using this for 3 weeks now (after this it expires anyway). And there was definately the right amount in the tub for the amount of time it needs to be used up, which i was quite worried about initially. I didn't want to end up wasting any.
The smell of this mask is amazing. Some of them can smell a bit funky, and to some people that makes it quite offputting, especially when it has to be applied to the face. But this one just smells of blueberries. yum.
When this has been on your face for about 5-10 minutes it starts to crumble, at least you can't leave it on any longer than it says. It washed off easily and it did leave my skin feeling really soft. I use the Mask of Magnaminty aswell, but i find that the fresh face masks make my skin look alot more refreshed and blemish free. I would definately reccommend the fresh facemasks as i can really tell a difference in my skin after i've used one. I'm going to be buying another one of these to try... :)

Anybody else has a good experience with a LUSH fresh face mask?

Oi Oi Sailor.

I am loving some of the nautical colours and themes buzzing around at the moment. It was around a bit last year (the whole anchors and red, blue and white) and it seems to have sneaked back in. Although this time round, I am slightly more drawn in.

I WANT this outfit. So cute.

These shoes were £25 in New Look. They also come in white to replace the blue. But i prefer the blue. Can't wait to wear them out. They have a really cute platform at the front, which can put you off balance if your not trained enough to walk in them. :O

Lucky Charms anyone?

Right, I know this is completely random, and i am a complete weirdo...but we used to have lucky charms in the U.K. They were my favourite. I could seriously eat box after box of those badboys. Then one evil day, general mills decided that they would crush my soul and completely remove them from the U.K shelves because they were too unhealthy. SO WHAT? If i get uber fat that's my problem right? I managed to get my hands on a box 3 years ago when my ex boyfriend went to the U.S on holiday and I begged him to bring me back a box in his hand luggage. I really did make that box last...he also bought me a lucky charms t shirt..but i cannot eat that. You have no idea how jealous i am that people in america can just chuck these into their trollies in the local supermarket. :(

So, If there is ANYONE lovely enough to send me some in exchange for something from the U.K (GOSH, Barry M...your choice) i would be more than happy too. haha i know...im crazy.

Most people do makeup swaps..I seem to have put a slight twist on that.
